Ingredients

  • 450g Greek feta cheese

  • 2 medium-sized eggs

  • 3 tablespoons wheat flour

  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • 1/4 cup black sesame seeds

  • MERAKI extra virgin olive oil

  • MERAKI Thyme honey for serving

Instructions

  • Mix the sesame seeds and black sesame seeds in a bowl.

  • In another bowl, whisk the eggs and add a few drops of water.

  • Cut the feta into slices about 1.5 cm thick.

  • Roll each disc in flour so that it is covered on all sides.

  • Dip the floured slices into the beaten eggs and let the excess egg drain off.

  • Repeat this with the remaining feta slices. Once all are breaded, place them in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

  • Heat enough olive oil in a pan to cover the bottom. Heat it over medium-high heat.

  • When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium and fry the feta slices for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
